An Endless Loop

Sometimes it feels like life is just the same old thing over and over again. Everyone seems to have it down pat, so why change? But now life is just the tune on a one-song playlist that's been put on repeat. The same old, used treadmill set at the same pace. The same tired, worn-down schedule enacted monotonously every day.

But you know what? We don't have to live like that.

We can turn off the iPod and make our own music. Set our life to our own melodies. Add in some schnazzy bits and some low key lullabies. So what if we mix rap and smooth jazz? It's our life and we're the DJs.

We can leave that treadmill and get out of the house. Take a lap around the neighborhood. Go walk in the park. Jog around and just look at the scenery. There's so much to see if we pay attention, so why lose the opportunity?

We can rip that schedule to shreds. We can take some chances, even if they're miniscule. We can be kids again; we can learn how to have fun. We have these wonderful people around us called friends. Gather them up and do something! So who cares if we're putting off homework for another hour? Just press pause on our hectic lives and let our imaginations roam free.

Life doesn't have to be the same boring routine, day after day. What's the point of living if we don't actually live? Don't let society control our lives and force us to fit into their mold. And if everyone else wants to continue with their tedious, banal lifestyle, then let them. We can be the rainbow Lucky Charm marshmallows in the middle of all that cereal. The funnily shaped clouds in a sky of cotton balls.

Life doesn't have to be this way. And we can change it.
