Erica's Adventures in Snowglobeland
God sent me snow in the morning today, before (and after for that matter) my physics quiz! Physics was iffy - it could have been much much worse, but I'm also pretty uncertain about my answers.
I realized in COS that I had forgotten to submit my partner readme, and proceeded to freak out about it for the duration of lecture until I received a response from my preceptor who said she wouldn't dock me for it. Whew.
Kiddie lit was amazing as usual - love that class. Had a really interesting discussion about the narrator in Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and the differences between the two books.
The weather was sincerely going crazy - it was barely snowing at 10am, almost blizzarding at 11am, but had completely stopped and was sunny by noon. It seriously felt like I was in a snowglobe. (Top picture taken at 11am, bottom picture taken noon.)
Life = Physics
Because without it, it seems like my life right now would be so much better. But without it, life also wouldn't exist. Because constants of nature and all that jazz we learned about in PHI203. I probably am not making any sense right now. Derpderpderp.
Quiz tomorrow. Praying that I won't fail.

Reevaluating
I've honestly fallen off the wagon on this blog. So much stuff has happened but I guess I just haven't found time to update...
So... Since the 5th. Brief rundown.
More snow. So much snow.
Eric came to visit! =D
Charter Prohibition Night!
Saw Wicked on Broadway ❤
Had a pretty awesome Valentine's quadruple date with the PEF couples
ITASA was pretty awesome - met some cool guys from CMU/Penn/Yale.
Also met Eric Lu from the Jubilee Project!!!
CLASSES. SO MUCH WORK. GAHHHH.
As always, much is going on. Lots of work, some projects/papers, a physics quiz next week, labwork, interviews...
But honestly I've been thinking a lot about where my time is going. I've decided to take a backseat with WCC and Innovation. They're two of the most time-consuming yet least... I don't want to say rewarding, but maybe effective? clubs that I'm in. I've had a packed schedule and it's worked, but it's only worked in the sense that I've been able to do everything. Have I been using my time effectively though? Probably not. I haven't been as great to my friends as I would have liked. I've been easier to upset, more easily aggravated... And I've been pretty emotional lately, which might be due to the busyness, and maybe not.
But I'm figuring it out. In any case, here are a couple of pictures. =]

First Snow Day Ever!
Classes were cancelled today because of snow (or ice, I guess) - I didn't even know college, let alone Princeton, did that! In any case, I sort of just lounged around and wasn't productive still. Woops.
I haven't posted in forever, wow. Well, I still have tons to do, so I guess I have to make this short.
Retreat was absolutely amazing. I have so much to say about it, but honestly, that sums it all up. Eric visited last weekend, which was pretty awesome. It was definitely nice to see an old friend.
Classes are a bit ridiculous. I'm terrified for physics and chem. Apprehensive for cos. Nervous for philosophy, and super excited for kiddie lit. Honestly, I think this whole semester is going to be a mishmash of me being super excited and rather terrified for most things. Classes, lab, clubs. So much more responsibility in all areas now, and all of it's harder too. Gah. It's been good though. I can already feel that I'm going to learn a ton... Or at least, I better.
God, please help me through this?

Just One More!
One last final on Friday, then a week of blissful nothing! Winter retreat (going to learn how to ski!) and to cap it off, Eric's visiting from MIT the last weekend! Super excited. =]
Got my math and biochem grades back. Not too shabby. Pretty worried about physics still though... And econ today was rough, though I'm pretty sure (I really hope) I passed...
Bit worried about history honestly. So many topics and emperors, and I've never been good at keeping events and dates straight haha... Well, I have two whole days. Time to cramcramcram!

(Not) Being Premed
In light of lots of conversations lately regarding premeds and their attentiveness to grades and GPA, I can only be insanely thankful that I have no plans to go to med school, no matter how much I joke that I could be a doctor. Because honestly, I couldn't. I'm nowhere near competitive enough to get the grades needed. I'm happy with my B+s most of the time; an A- is a blessing and an A would be a miracle in quite a few of my classes. Hearing friends talk about a B+ like it's the end of the world is honestly just... sort of sad and rather demoralizing.
I'm sure I was guilty of it myself in high school. And not that it makes it better, but we're at Princeton now. Princeton. The currently ranked #1 school in America. Princeton, with its grade deflation and difficult courses. A B+? I'd say that's pretty damn good.
But at the same time, I can't help but feel a little insecure. I'm studying hard. I study with these people sometimes. Why am I not doing as well? Sure, I don't do it for the grade, and I don't worry about my grades as much, considering I'm not premed, but still...
It just makes me feel a little bad.

1 Down, 4 To Go
I'd like to say I'm done with physics, but that's not entirely true... And it sort of sucked. Ah well. I've never been good at physics, and I'm still not. Judging from the fact that I have no intention of taking anything beyond intro, I will never be good at physics. Meh, I'm okay with that I guess.
Math tomorrow, biochem Sunday, econ Tuesday, classics Friday. Then retreat!
Whew. Prayers please? (And prayers going out to all you lovely people in finals mode as well! We can do this!)

My friends care so much about me.
And I don't realize it enough because I don't reach out to them enough. I've sincerely been so amazingly blessed.

Going Back...
Back in the Bubble! And hard at work at not doing work. =P
Landed around 7:15am, baggage claim took about an hour. We barely missed the 8:30 NJTransit (my fault since I thought taking the elevator instead of the escalator would be fine, but that made us late for the AirTrain and the next AirTrain made us late for the train...). Anyways, we got back in one piece though! Big shout-out to Jenny for helping me with luggage on the way back. =]
Got to the dorm, unpacked, slept for like 4 hours, derped around for an hour, got dinner, slept for 3 more hours... Currently derping more haha.
Tomorrow's not going to be productive either, but I get to see Matterpie! Planning on a day of just chilling, with snow-related things (the snow's so clean since no one's on campus to walk over it!) and Wall-E. Excited ❤

Luggage Woes
I fail to see why I consistently have so much crap to bring back and forth. Basically, I don't understand why I fail to learn that I really only need to bring back jeans because I have a horrific amount of clothing both at home and at school. (Lawrence, if you're reading this, you're right, you don't need to say it.)
In the weakest of defenses, half my luggage is books. Most of which I didn't look at either.
Hopefully I'll learn next time. I think the books are here to stay - I should plan better and not bring all of the subject back (so I'll probably leave my humanities behind next time) but I do like having the safety of knowing I could study if I want to... Safety net overrides reality I suppose.

On the upside, bowling and lunch was tons of fun today! And we weren't too bad. =]
