"The Terminal" Family

So anyways, China (being all stupid and everything) blocked Facebook, Blogger, Youtube, etc. It was rather annoying. So anyways, the day we left Shanghai, it was raining the hardest it has in a few years. Like, as it the roads were flooding (getting a taxi ride was almost impossible, and the ride itself was like a water rollercoaster), and the runways were partially flooded too. So our original flight got delayed for about four hours, so we managed to squeeze onto the earlier flight (which was departing at our original flight time). But then that got delayed for an hour, and we spent two hours on the plane waiting for the signal from the flight tower okay-ing us for departure.
So basically, we were about 3 hours behind schedule (we ended up in Hong Kong at about 11pm), and since we were supposed to change flights in Hong Kong, we ended up missing our connecting flight back to Taipei. Hence the title. We got to stay at the airport hotel though, which they said was five-star, but was really about three. =P We got like HKD$460 (USD$66) for dinner and breakfast though, but we spent it all at Starbucks. Roflmao. It was the only thing open at midnight, and we were rushing in the morning to get on our flight, so we didn't bother finding an actual restaurant. The airport TVs were all playing some "rap" about preventing H1N1, I recorded it, it was soooo funny!

So anyways, China was fun! Hong Kong and Shanghai both have great places to shop (or, actually, stay in cool AC-department stores), and their night scenes are gorgeous! Hangzhou and Suzhou have some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen! I took lots of pictures, I'll upload them later. =P I got tons of cool experiences too; I got to ride the magnet train, see quite a few of the world's tallest buildings, and a lot of other stuff. ;D

*****

I went to ShiLing night market yesterday (again), and bought so much stuff it's ridiculous. Sure, most of it's for my sister, but it's still ridiculous. I got these really cool plastic "night lights" that glow and change color (one's a flower, the other's a ball), four pairs of shoes (three of them for my sister), a shirt/dress, a necklace (for my sister), these REALLY pretty credit card holders (one for each of us), and Coach key chains. Yep. Spending money's fun. Haha.

I'm going to Wu Fen Pu (shopping place for hella cheap clothes and stuff) to see if I can find more stuff for my sister. And maybe me, depending. XP Hope your summer's going well too! (Especially for you soccer refs, lol.)

Only in China...

LOL. I was like, WTF??? But seriously, who would wear that? XDD

Anyways, Hong Kong's a beautiful city. ;D Night scenery is especially pretty, except I don't have a night option on my camera... =( Been down the "Avenue of Stars," and the Clock Tower, and some other places. Exploring more today! I took tons of pictures too, they're all going to be up on Facebook. =P There's not that much to write though, except the fact that it's rather hot here, but it rains periodically too, so it's like, "Um... really?" Plus I can't wear my favorite (self-made) hat, because it's not exactly waterproof and the pink will bleed if it touches water.

The hotel we're staying in is AWESOME though! I can't tell you how weird (but in a nice way) it feels to have those hotel guys opening doors for you (you know, like they always show in the ads, but never actually happens) and bellhops, and the guys in suits in the elevators with white gloves that ask, "Which floor?" and press the buttons for you and stuff. Speaking of buttons, they aren't actually buttons, they're like, touch pads. =D Anyways, this hotel is hella nice! Well, besides the fact that their internet costs like US$15 (I'm in a Starbucks right now).

So anyways, I'm having a BLAST here in China, hope all of you guys are doing well back in sunny Cali!!! (Or Taiwan, for some of you. Or wherever else you are! XP)

Kaohsiung ~ Marco's Cafe

Yep. My grandparent's here don't have internet at their house, so I'm here at a cafe. Drinking tea. Eating waffles. And using the internet!!! Haha. Yeah, not much has happened... I'm actually sort of bored. Well anyways, I'm going back to the house in like, five minutes, so yup. Just thought I'd post a quickie here, since I have nothing else to do, and since most all of my friends are sleeping. XD Okies, bye!!! =P

Shooting Range!

So anyways, I went to this shooting range with my uncle and aunt (but my aunt didn't shoot). It's only 10m but it's pretty damn hard. I had SO much fun though! It's hella awesome! You get to load the gun and aim and fire and everything too, it's so cool! We only got 20 shots though, but Uncle bought 500 shots afterward, so we can go again, and he can "practice" more. XD I really want to go again. ;D But anyways, I sort of failed, but at least all of my shots hit the paper! (Now the target's a different story...) One barely nicked the bottom edge, lol. My uncle totally blew two shots though. He insists that he must've aimed it so well that it went through one of his old bullet holes, but seriously? He just fails. XD We used pistols, since they're way easier to shoot. They have rifles too though! But anyways, I seriously admire people who can shoot well. I need to find a shooting range in San Ramon that's not too expensive. I'm probably going to get addicted to it if I do. Which isn't exactly good, but whatever. XP We might go again tomorrow; they have golf, badminton, pool, archery, swimming, and tons of other stuff too! We might not shoot tomorrow, but I definitely want to do archery. =D I really hope I get to go shooting again though! This place is hella fun, I wish my aunt told me about it earlier!

We ate at this really yummy pasta place after, and I got a froyo which is actually yogurt-like. Like, it tastes almost exactly like vanilla yogurt, not ice cream. Yummy! We bought a ton of food for my dad too, since he's coming back today. He should actually be here in a few more minutes. So yeah, I had a hella fun day! =P

Fun Times in Taiwan!!!

Okay, I take back my last post. Sort of. But anyways, PinkBunny and I made these hella AWESOME hats!!! We got these blank hot pink/neon blue/white hats from WeShare, and a ton of cute felt stickers and beads and jewels and stuff, and we decorated it! The blue pen was paint base, but the pink might bleed if it touches water, so that kind of sucks. But whatever. Mine turned out hella sick; I'm so proud of it!!! =D I'll post a picture of it here. Then we ate a ton of yummy food and stuff.

Kuromi has this awesome Pokemon game (Explorers of Time) on her DS, so we were playing that. I'm a Skitty, and she's Charmander! =D And we "raped" PinkBunny at night. Roflmao.

We went swimming today, it was sort of tiring. People here actually need you to SWIM. You can't just hang out in the pool and splash and half-swim, you need to actually swim. Period. But whatever.

But anyways, apart from that, PinkBunny seriously whines so freaking much. It gets HELLA annoying. And I'm her cousin, so I tolerate her better than most. But I swear, every time she gets annoyed or wants to go somewhere, or if something doesn't go her way, she gets soooooo freaking WHINY. Ugh. And Kuromi's mute and depressed right now, but we don't know why...>
Well, they're leaving tomorrow, and I've barely done any more notes for AP Euro. I hope we can go somewhere fun tomorrow though. Uhm... An amusement park! I love amusement parks! But anyways, I'm still hecka amazed that I made the hat, it looks so cool!

Oh, and on a different note, Wayne got a girlfriend!!! Yay! I'm so happy for him!

I Can't Believe This...

Ugh. >.< So anyways, my family and my cousin's family REALLY have a feud going on, and I actually haven't been talking to her all that much this year, because she's gotten sort of different and totally hyper and just.. I dunno, sort of annoying. It's like she has so many "best friends" that she actually has no best friends at all. Oh well.

Anyways, so my aunt tells me that her family will be leaving before I get to Taiwan, then it's before my mom leaves for Kaohsiung, and now they're staying until my dad gets here. -.- And okay, I was like, "Okay, sure." But no, not only are they staying, they're leaving our aunt's house, and coming here (our grandparent's/uncle's house). AND I'm sharing a room with my cousins. Yup, both of them. -.- And I'll have no time alone with my aunt or uncle now, because my uncle was on a business trip, then my aunt went to Macao, and now both my cousins are here, so undoubtedly they'll want to come with us wherever I want to go. Blech. Whatever.

*****

On the other hand, I found these little things (not specifying) that are TOTALLY perfect for Courtney, Robyn, and me!!! =D I'm so happy! ;D

Happy (Belated) Fourth of July!

Anyways, the fireworks this year were really pretty! They had a few new ones, there was a cube, then this double Saturn with a ring thing. They had a lot of the glittery ones, so that was nice. Overall though, I think last year's show was better. Oh well. Happy Independence Day, guys! (How come no one ever says that? =P)

*****
So I went swimming with Lucy, Jillian, and Seohyun today. Four blind girls without goggles diving for small black hairbands in the deep end of the pool = fun and chaos. We all dived for one set of keys at the beginning, but after a few kicks in the head, we decided to use two hairbands, and take turns instead. Then we sunbathed and took pictures, and Jillian played with a golf ball she fished out of the pool. (I think the person who hit the golf ball into the pool is a hazard to swimmers. I mean, I know there's a golf course right there, but come on!)

Then we went back to my house, and I swear, those girls eat so much. o.o They devoured a whole freaking pot of spaghetti. And a croissant. And some ice cream. And popsicles. And half a jug of apple juice. Haha, I was like, "Holy sh*t..." But it was fun. Then we watched some TV, and Lucy/Jillian both left. Seohyun stayed for a while and I touched up on AP Euro notes, then we left for the park to hang out with her friends and watch fireworks.

Anyways, before the fireworks, I hung out with Seohyun and some of her freshman friends (Marcel, Jeff, John, Jeddy) and we played basketball. =P Damn, I just realized 3/4 of the guys' names start with J. Haha, I'm so pro. So yup, that was fun. Then we spent like, 20 minutes deciding where to sit before going to where I usually sit with my family. So yup.

Then we went to Starbucks, which was cool, but apparently there was a fight there, and there were tons of cops and an ambulance and everything. OMG, I SAW A COP ON A BICYCLE!!! Haha, it was so awesome! I was like, "Wowwww, I didn't even know they had cops that just rode bicycles!" But it had the red and blue flashing lights and everything! On the bicycle!
So I saw Sling and Megan and Kevin at Starbucks, and Yuna revived the "Sling and Erica look alike" debate. Which I think Sling and I lost (we argued that we didn't), but whatever. Then afterwards, I saw Tedmund and DJ (who I thought I didn't know, but I actually do know him. Sort of. By sight. XD), and Tedmund got pissed at Kevin (who left already), because he ditched them earlier. Then I left with Seohyun. So all in all, a pretty awesome day! ;D

*****

I watched "The Proposal" with Courtney, Robyn, Kevin, Ross, and Davy on Wednesday. It was hella funny, and such a cute movie too! I found out that it was a total chick flick, but since it was hilarious, I don't think the guys minded much. XD But omg, afterwards, I kept thinking about how Ryan Reynolds/Andrew Paxton said "Wifeless" at the end, and it was just so cute! (Yeah, you need to watch the movie to get what I'm talking about). But anyways, afterwards, we went to McDonald's, and Loard's, and Bay Books, and some other places too. But Ross left, so Kevin and Davy teamed up and totally ditched us. -.- And then Davy tried to scare us, but the idiot didn't realize that store windows have reflections. Haha. Eh, whatever. So that was hella fun too. =D

*****

Went bowling last Friday with pretty much the same group. Actually, minus Kevin and Ross. XD I felt sorry for Davy. Sort of. Not really. But anyways, I EPIC FAIL at bowling. Of course, I didn't really care, but whatever. I think I ended up with a 35? Haha, yeah, lame. Oh well. Then we went to Burger King, and PetsMart, and Toys R Us (where Davy and I rode around on these little kiddie bikes with training wheels until an employee asked us to stop), and Target! Where Davy was mean and stole my bouncy ball and threw it back in the bin. It took me like, 5 minutes to get it out of the bin. And he just threw it back in! -.- But I tried riding this baby tricycle, and I sorta broke the end, and Davy put it back together for me, so I forgave him for the bouncy ball incident. XD Then we left. Yup. Fun times, fun times.

*****

On another note, TAIWAN IN 2 DAYS! HELL YEAH! But I still have a ton of AP Euro notes. Agh... -.- Oh well. Related to that, Wayne FINALLY got on AIM today. Haha. I need to meet up with him in Taiwan, I havem't seen him in like, forever. -.- Oh well. So yeah, I'm hecka psyched for Taiwan! Yay!

Piano Test

Anyways, I passed. Yay. But my judge was seriously crazy. I swear, she looks at EVERY. SINGLE. NOTATION. -.- I'm not going to use the pedal on every single song, or play the song exactly as the page says. Jeez. I swear. Besides, it's not my fault that I was never instructed to use the soft pedal, but nooooooo, she still needs to dock points. Same for playing forte where it says mezzo-forte. Even though my teacher said to. But whatever, she ended up liking me. It all depends on how you talk to her (haha, she was fun to talk to).

Basically she'd like, come over after every single song and tell me exactly what was wrong with it. And I'd just be like, "Okay." "All right." "I'll make sure to pay attention to that in the future." So she was like, "You're very mature. And you're only fourteen!" Then, just for good measure, I added, "Thanks for all these suggestions, I'm sure they'll help in my studies in the future." (NOT) But it was rather interesting. Plus she'd always cut me off halfway in the middle. And there was one where she cut me off and had me restart in the end. It was like:

Judge: Okay, that's enough. Now, can you start playing at the G minor arpeggio?
Me*thinking*: What the f*********ck? (I mean seriously, who memorizes pieces according to where they have arpeggios or whatever?)
Me *speaking*: Uhm, I'm not exactly sure which section of the piece you're referring to...

Haha, it all depends on how you phrase it. =P But she was a pretty cool person, just not exactly the best judge. She started talking to a seagull. As in, "SHUT UP. You're annoying me" to a seagull cawing. XDD She also started walking around and dumping out her purse halfway through my "Moonlight Sonata" looking for a tissue. But anyways, after a while, I gave up trying to get her to like my playing, sine she was too anal, and just spent time trying to get her to like me, since sometimes (rarely, but it happens), they give you more points that way. XD So I was all like (since she'd just spent like, 3 hours listening to two students when their teacher scheduled them for one hour TOTAL), "Take your time. I was waiting outside for a while, so I know how it feels. We've both had a long day."

But she refused to cut any pieces. It went along:
Teacher: You can go ahead and cut some pieces, we've been here for a long time.
Judge: Oh, it's fine, I'm sure your student would want me to listen to all of the pieces she's prepared, right? *looks at me*
Me *thinking*: Oh hell no! Cut ALL my pieces if you want!
Me *speaking*: Oh, well, if it's easier for you... I wouldn't mind if you cut a few...

But yeah, I was SUPPOSED to start testing at 3:45. But uhm... it ended up being like, 6:25. *sighs* And the judge only gave me an "Excellent." I think it's my lowest score yet; I've always gotten "Superior"s and "Superior Plus"s. I think I had on or two "Superior Minus"s, but definitely not an "Excellent." *sighs* Oh well, it was fun talking to the judge. Haha. I'm sort of glad I didn't take my Bach though (even though I prepared all of them), because given how freaking meticulous this judge is, she probably would've failed me. =P

UP!

So yeah, I went to see UP with Jess today in 3D. It's such a cute movie! But damn, that Charles Muntz dude has too many dogs. =P But anyways it was a pretty awesome movie, but the 3D effects made me sort of dizzy near the end. Speaking of those, I stole the glasses. I mean, it's not like they're going to reuse them... right? And sorry Stepho, but they're MY glasses. Especially since you smacked me and my smack back wasn't "legit" enough for you. -.- Haha, jaykays, but they're still mine.

Then we went to Fuddruckers and bought these hella yummy chili cheese fries. Yup. That was about it, but it was still fun. XD

Only17 more days until Taiwan!!! Yay!!! =D
And only 2 more days until my piano test!!! Nooo!!! =(

I'm Baaaaaaaack!!!

Back from my incredibly, incredibly, INCREDIBLY long Blogger deprivation, which lasted - yes, it did! - 29 days! Counting today. Maybe I shouldn't count today. Oh well. Whatever. Anyways, I went to Michelle's birthday party oh so long ago. It was hella fun! Dinner at Sweet Tomatoes (yummy!) then we went to see Night at the Museum. I love Michelle's mom. She was like (to Gabe and Jimmy), "If the girls do anything bad, and the guards come over, make sure you say that you did it." Then we went back to Michelle's and watched people dance (hip-hop, C-walk, breakdance, whatever). Then we stayed up until 6 watching movies!!! Hell yeah! XD

And I got my first official check ever! Haha, $42.54! W00t! And yeah, I have gotten checks before, but not OFFICIAL ones. As in, like, business-official, not personal-official. If you get what I mean.

I can't remember much else. Yeah, my memory is that bad. But hey, it's been a month! Almost. But anyways, finals were a bitch. Or rather, multiple bitches. XD Stupid math teacher gave me half credit on a 50 problem assignment because I didn't show work for TWO. FREAKING. PROBLEMS. And they were simple algebraic ones too, not like I had to work out what the square root of some infinitely long number plus 56 pi squared to the eighth was. -.- Oh well. I GOT 100% IN ENGLISH!!! HELL YEAH! So yup. Final grades are:

PE: A, 96%
World Geography&Cultures: A, 96%
Algebra II: A-, 92.51% (<--- Bahaha, good to know that I can still get an A- while skipping some homework problems by showing some crap work, and not spending any time on this class whatsoever. XD But I'm still sort of pissed. I should have gotten a higher grade. -.-)
<-- English 9: A+, 100% (<--- Hah! That'll show Mrs. Foss. It IS possible to get an A+ in her class!!!)
Ceramics II: A+, 100%
CP Biology: A+, 108.63% (<--- Lol...)
French III: A+, 97.46%

So yup. Yay, I guess? But frosh year doesn't count. So whatever.
On the upside, TAIWAN THIS SUMMER! HELL YEAH! And tons of other people are going back when I'm going to be there too, like Shannie, Kim, Michael...
On the downside, piano test this Tuesday. And yes, I did say one day. I was SUPPOSED to take the Bach test too, on Monday, but my parents decided that I wasn't ready enough, even though I only had 2 songs left of Bach, and 1 of my thirteen pieces, and like, a week to go. -.- Oh well, whatever. But it pisses me off that I wasted all those hours prepping and memorizing for a test I'm not taking. And now it's going to be another year before I can take it. So I'll have forgotten everything by then. *sighs*

But anyways, other than that, not much else to post about. I've read Nectar in a Sieve and Sophie's World already, and I'm starting Bless Me, Ultima. I don't remember anything though, but who cares? It's not like we'll actually have a test on it. Why yes, I did ask my awesome sophomore friends. Jung, you still owe me, let's see... Quite a few Jamba Juices, pho, bubble tea, and, oh yeah, a chocolate pie. =P

There probably won't be much to post about anymore, until my piano test; I'll let you people know how that goes. No, wait. DAMN I FORGOT ONE OF THE MAIN POINTS!

I'm fourteen now! Roflmao. Yeah, that happened sometime between now and then. Okay, NOW I'm done. See you people, and I WILL post more! Hopefully in less than 29 days. =P

Stalkers at the Mall

Jeez I haven't posted in foreverrr...
Well anyways, over the weekend, I went to the mall with Mike just because we were bored and needed something to do. XD So anyways, he wandered off somewhere when I was getting us those smoothie/slurpee thingies, so I was walking around the place trying to figure out where he went.
Then this one guy starts following me, and I got totally creeped out, because usually when people follow me in the mall, I'm with a friend (and therefore it's less creepy-outy), and he keeps following me, and you can tell he's actually being serious about this because he has this sort of creepy look on his face. Plus, there's no friends around him, and he's not bursting out laughing. So yeah, he was about our age, I'd say 15, and would've been sort of cute if he hadn't been stalking me. So I sat down in those nice comfy sofa chair things, called Mike, and was like, "GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE BEFORE I GET KIDNAPPED BY THIS TEENAGE STALKER/KIDNAPPER DUDE." So I'm sitting there, drinking my slurpee thing, and Mike comes over, gets his slurpee thing from me, and we start walking towards H&M, and get this. The guy is still following us.
I swear, isn't it sorta of common sense not to stalk someone if they bring over a friend of the opposite gender? Most sane people would put one and one together, as in 1 girl + 1 guy = ??? and bug off. Not that it's always true (like now), but I mean, seriously.
So then Mike decided to record him following us, which was sort of lame, but hey, each to his own. So after a while, we were getting pretty bored of looking over our shoulders and asking each other, "Is he still there?" So Mike goes over to the guy, and I have no idea what the hell he's doing, but I can hear him pretty well (the guy sucks at being a stalker, he's like, 7 feet away), and so basically, he was pretending to be my boyfriend and was pretty much acting all pissed off at the stalker dude.
Then the dude pretends he doesn't know what we're talking about, so Mike whips out that video clip he shot (of like, 10 minutes with the guy behind us). So after that, the guy just stands there, stammers, then beats it. I was like, LOLLL. It was hella funny. XDD

*****

Anyways, brief synopsis of my life:

PE: Softball. The ball is like, bigger than my hand. And the bat is apparently heavy (according to Courtney, who used to play softball), but I don't think it's THAT bad. But yeah, it's sort of heavy. No swimming! Ever!!! Hell yeah! XD

History: Israel stuff. Socratic seminars. I'm not exactly sure what we're doing, but we have a test on Israel, so I'll take a wild stab and say Israel. XD

English: The Importance of Being Ernest! Haha I'm the person who falls in love with Jack, because I think his name is Ernest. Which, technically, it really is, but...
Presented my Alex Award today too; epically failed, but whatever.

Bio: Molluscs. Great. ROFL, we had a sub on Friday, and I was hella tired, and we had an underwater video to watch, so...
Sleepy Erica + Dark Environment = Sleeping Erica
There's a first time for everything. =P

Math: Conics. Fun... Parabolas, circles, ellipses, hyperbolas, foci, directrix, transverse axes...

Ceramics: Glazing. Not much else. We're having a food thing as our final. Bahaha. Of course we need to make the stuff we're putting the food in, but... Easy final. It's all good.

French: Petit Nicolas! Last test on "Le Bouillon" tomorrow, then we're acting out our own chapter. Haha yay! But Madame Goldin isn't coming back for the rest of the yar, and the sub is hella annoying... =(

Random Stuff: You're looking at the blog of the newest employee of Kumon! Haha, so lame, I know. Apparently I got the last spot, since someone is leaving, but whatever. Starting next Tuesday! Come visit me: Tuesdays/Fridays, after school! It's the Kumon by Le Asia.
I am so screwed for my piano Guild testing. Not even joking.
I got those Academic Excellence award things from Pence (haha, 110%!!! XD), and Foss (o.O).
David Choi Music! Go check it out. ;D (I need to update my MixPod...)
Robyn's sick. =\ I hope she gets better soon... Have fun reading these posts, Robyn! I'll try to update daily. Haha, yeah right. XD
I REALLY want a Werther's Caramel right now... *sobs*

COURTNEY'S BIRTHDAY IS THIS SATURDAY! BRING PRESENTS, FOOD, WHATEVER FRIDAY!!!

No Swimming, Please

Anyways, apparently if the showers don't get fixed, we don't have to swim in PE! W00t! Not much else to write, so...

I
I really

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I went Sunday with Sling, Tiff, Jess, and Justine. I thought it was pretty good. The very beginning was rather confusing and sort of stupid, but the action sequences were AWESOME, especially after they join Team X and infiltrate that one building. Haha. Agent Zero and Deadpool are sooooo cool! Too bad they were both evil and died in rather disturbing ways. XD The guy who played Wade was pretty cute though. And I was like, "OMG, that dude [Bolt] is the hobbit!" Then Tiff was like, "Wtf...?" because she's never watched any of the LOTR movies before. XD
It was sort of awkward, since we were in the very front row. The theater was PACKED. Anyways, I got dizzy during the previews. XD Kind of funny, but annoying nevertheless. The Ice Age 3 preview was soooo cute! =D

Afterwards, we went to Barnes&Nobles and read some books, then just wandered around for a while. All in all, a pretty cool day. Not spectacular or anything, but fun nevertheless.

Objection, Your Honor!

Yup. The mock trial is going pretty well. I think defense did really good, given that we haven't even started to present our case yet.
Apparently I objected too much though, as stated by *cough* CourtneyandRobyn *cough*, but Mr. Sloan DID sustain most of them. Plus it doesn't seem like all the jurors were annoyed, just a few. *cough* But whatever. It was rather fun. I can't wait for the closing!!! It's going to be awesome. =D
I'm soooo glad that Eric's the emperor though! I mean, he's going to be an awesome witness! Haha, I probably didn't even need to give him the answers to my questions. ;D

As for objecting, I object to all my other classes. XD Well, most of them.

Bio was pretty interesting, but really depressing too; Mr. Pence just talked about his niece, who was strangled and set on fire by her ex. o.o

Now, Chinese was HELLA fun. I stole Michael's folder and decorated it with smiley faces, flowers, hearts, and rainbows!!! Haha. He was like, "Great, now everyone's going to think I'm gay." XDD Then during break, Kim, Michael, and I went outside and got totally drenched in the rain. It was pretty fun.

Stupid Poetry Project...

It's freaking torture. -.- At least I picked all my poems already... I hope I finish by the time it's due though. I have this awesome idea that just MIGHT get me some extra points, plus it takes some problems off my back, but I don't know if I'll be able to finish it. Maybe she'll give me an extension? Yeah right. XD
Anyways, we have to put it our "Capturing a Moment" poem, which sucks. Because my poem sucks. =P But I never posted it up here, so... Here you go! ;D

Behind a Veil of Steam

A light gauze coats the transparent door of my shower,
Lazy droplets slowly inch their way down walls of glass and tile,
The temperature knob turned as far as it can go,
And scalding drops of water penetrate my sin like tiny bullets.

Tensions throughout my body which I didn't even know I possessed
Oozes out of my pores into cascades
Of shimmering water streaming down my body.
I breathe in a mist of cucumber shampoo and liquid Dove soap.

The rhythm of the water dancing on the floor,
Creating a blanket of soothing music that envelopes me like an old friend,
Muffles the noises of the evening that permeate through our house:
The sound of frying, movies playing... all extinguished by the soft pitter-pat of water.

In the shower I am alone.
No sister barging into my room unannounced,
No friends interrupting me with the shrill shriek of the telephone,
No parents nagging me about school and piano.

The water falling from the shower head is no ordinary tap water,
But rather a magical fluid infused with a mysterious power that entrances me.
The sparkles of falling water mesmerizing me into reflection,
Allowing thoughts tumbling in somersaults to soften into a dewy mellowness.

Within this world of glass, I catch every thought in my mind
Before they vanish like the ephemeral flashes of fireflies.
Then I release them into the world, let them drift away,
Up towards heaven like softly curling vapors of steam.

Within these walls, I find myself:
A writer, contemplating the notions tinkling through my mind like a well-known melody.
A child, remembering days on the playground monkey bars, climbing looming trees.
A friend, thinking of those who have come and gone, cherishing the ones with me now.

I am tucked away in this small three-by-four pocket of time,
Away from frantic deadlines and countless things to do.
The last of the water flows into a swirling spiral down the drain t my feet,
Having cleansed not only my body, but my mind and soul,
Leaving the bare essence that is me.
