FINALS!

Aw yeah! Brofense bossed today! Now it's up to prosecution to bring us to state on Tuesday! =]

Semifinals! Bring it Hercules!

SO proud of the Mock Trial team! Fourth straight year to semis! We're gonna rock this brofense!

On a slightly more somber note, I'm rather disappointed that no one in my family ever says congrats for Mock Trial. You know, just once. Never any congrats for extracurricular activities...

Stress...?

You know, I'm so not motivated anymore. I'm sort of nervous because Dillman hasn't started the long teacher evaluation thing for the Presidential Scholars app yet, but at the same time, it's sort of like, I'm not going to get it so why does it matter? Same with scholarships, I'm really just too lazy to apply to some of the small ones. I don't want to write three essays for a chance at $1,000... Blah.

On the upbeat, competition against Dougherty tomorrow! And it's Ross's birthday!

BROFENSE! Δ

We beasted it up today, aw yeah. =P So proud of everyone on defense! Now, it's up to brosecution to own Acalanes tomorrow!

I really don't know what I would do without Mock Trial - it's definitely one of the loves/defining points/highlights of my high school journey. Totally makes waking up an hour earlier every fall semester worth it. ♥

Oh drama guys. ♥

Rahhhh!

So I've been rather busy lately. Homework, scholarships, clubs, all that jazz. I swear... I definitely wonder sometimes if I've overloaded myself. But the times all work out, and I still get a few hours of chill time every week or so (like now), so I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing! =]

Which brings me to a point - pet peeve really. People who say they would do something but can't, because they're too busy. If you really wanted to do it, you'd make time. If you have a specific conflict with a scheduled event, that makes perfect sense, but not when the "event" is something that happens every week. Just my two cents.

Lit was hilarious today, if only because we got to hear/see Mr. Hight fling his arms out and say "Hi guys!" in a really girly voice.

Robotics was fun. I got to use the horizontal bandsaw on a piece of Lexan. It freaking snowed Lexan shavings. I came home and found pieces in my hair. xD

Still coughing like crazy, and my throat still sort of hurts. Major improvement from last week though, so I'm hopeful it'll be gone before the big Northgate trial on Wednesday! (Scores for the Heritage trial came out - such BS...)

In any case, I finished all my homework! I COULD be a good kid and start scholarship essays that are due next week, but that's what the four-day weekend is for! =P

Recovering!

Sore throat is pretty much gone, cough is a LOT better from yesterday. =] Robotics meeting seemed to help, all that social support psychology stuff. =P

Edit: I don't cough as much now, but when I do, it's NASTY. =[

Yay For Being Sick...

Don't you love feeling like crap the week during which you have a test in every class?

Monday, February 6, 2012

-coughs-

Sore throat the night before our Mock Trial competition starts. Great.

Chocolate-covered strawberries made me happy earlier though!

Then APES and calc made me sad again. -sighs-

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Yay Tests!

Monday - Psych
Tuesday - APES and calc
Wednesday - Econ
Thursday - Lit
Friday - Gov

Aw yeah. -sighs- Rather tired, but oh well. Bring it!

Research award + Outstanding

I still think we should have gotten gavel. I mean, on one hand, I definitely should have talked more, taken a bit more of a leadership role in committee. On the other, Belgium, while good speakers, signed their name as a sponsor on every freaking directive and jumped up at every chance to speak. A little bit too outspoken and rather annoying after a while.

Ah well, it was fun, and I did well, considering it was my first time. It really didn't seem hard at all though - the first hour of the first day was a bit confusing, but it really wasn't hard to catch on. It might have been because it was Santa Clara, but I was definitely expecting MUN to be harder. I sort of wish I had gone to conferences earlier, but I know it's sort of ridiculous to expect that of myself, given how damn busy I've been for the past four years... Oh well.

It was a pretty awesome weekend, and Brian was an awesome partner for putting up with my incessant questions and helping with policy. =]

Isn't it amusing how two people can say the same exact thing, and one will make you so much happier than the other?

Hard Times Indeed

I was sort of in a fog all of today. Don't remember much, but we got to meet Mrs. Fitch's grandchildren today! So cute! =]

My eye was bugging me all throughout the scrimmage today, so I was super discracted. It still really hurts, so I'm going to bed soon.

"After much consideration, I have decided that the marginal benefit of continuing to work on this crappy essay is probably outweighed by the marginal cost. Indeed, the marginal product yielded just might be negative. Save and print!"
It's decent, so I suppose it'll have to suffice. Hopefully it's good enough in Mr. Hight's eyes to get an A... =\
