If Teachers Had Twitters...
*Idea from Courtney*
If I could, I'd fire everyone from the White House and bring in the economists.
This sheep tried to climb over a 8-foot tall fence today. Sheep are bloody STUPID!
I burnt my popcorn in the microwave today... Again... =[
I was looking over the problems I assigned my students today, and some of them are so elegant!
I learn something new every day - it's AMAZING! People don't get married and don't have kids to research all of this stuff...
I thought I was teaching freshmen, but it seems some of them never graduated from kindergarten...
My kids just had to name the dog "Roxxie"...
My wife is teaching Bungalows on Banana Boulevard right now! Just kidding...
My students get to learn about "King Phillip Coming Over For Great Sex" today!
There was a fire drill today. It was completely pointless, so I just taught through it.

150 Calories of Cough Drops
I legitly got ambushed by a cold today. It was like, "Girl, you were too happy yesterday, so take this! BAM!" Stuffy/runny nose, a sore throat that's killing me, no energy whatsoever, COMPLETE loss of any coordination I might have had, and a fever. Wonderful.
Cough drops are my savior because I can't breathe through my nose, and I also can't breathe through my mouth unless I soothe it with a cough drop first. Basically, I can't breathe without cough drops.
Now... College app time anyone?

ThinkGeek
.
This is AMAZING. You know, if you want to get me a present, you can find some pretty cool stuff on here... Japanese pocket puzzles (Vortex especially, but the other ones are pretty awesome too), the magnetic Inception top, buckyballs, samurai chopsticks, blue butterfly in a jar... The possibilities are ENDLESS. xP

Delta Band Review 9/24/11
.
It was a pretty good show, given the circumstances (first show, incomplete, practice etiquette troubles). No drops! Even though rifles were the only ones tossing, Aileen had a popped knee and both Ellen/Clarie had stubbed fingers. We didn't QUITE make it to the judges stand though...
Music sounded pretty awesome! Apparently they've played it better before, but I thought it was good. -shrugs-
Percussion - 5th overall (score = 89-ish?)
Auxiliary - 3rd in division (score = 51.5)
Band - 2nd in division (score = 86.9)

On the way to comp, Ross was totally asleep in a window seat, and the funny thing was, if I looked towards the back of the bus (since I had a window seat too), I could totally see his head moving. =P
These new guard shoes are rather painful. The right one is fine, but by the time the comp was done, I had raw patches on the side of my foot and two toes, and a popped blister on another toe. Ouch. =[
I had fun talking to Toria/Peter/Ross/Giulio/Tony during lunch. Lots of random conversations and me telling Ross to stop studying. Seriously, he and Giulio brought textbooks to the comp... Such good kids...
Ross was passing out Icebreakers while we were in the bleachers waiting for awards, and I was like, "Can I have some sugar?" He closes the thing, and says, "Sorry, I don't have sugar," and points to the label on the Icebreakers container that says Sugar-free. It was a pretty good comeback. xD
Fell asleep on the ride back, so... Not much to talk about there. =]
All in all, it was a pretty awesome day. Time to get ready for the next comp now!

My Life is Eventful
For once. xD Let's see... Major areas with major points I guess, though I definitely have more going on than what's listed (like all of my clubs).
Today
Mock Trial - Led the class through Devin Lin's witness statement. That person is a creeperrr.
Econ - The test was pretty easy. I missed one, and that was totally a stupid mistake. =[
Gov - Test was alright, pretty moderate.
Psych - Oh I love psych SO much... Ms. Fitch was talking about songs and senses triggering memories and emotion, and she asked, "Who's ever had a relationship and been dumped?" The right side of the class has like 5-10 hands go up, and the left (where all the "nerds" sit - me, Courtney, Robyn, Bhumika, Ross, Simion, etc.) is absolutely motionless. It was amazingly funny. Sort of sad, sure, but hilarious.
School
Lots of tests. Lots and lots of tests. Math is my lowest grade right now (so sad...). Otherwise it's okay.
Mock Trial is as usual, entertaining and pretty chill.
Econ is surprisingly easy - I thought tests were going to be harder, though I, without fail, make stupid mistakes on tests still.
Lit tests have gotten slightly easier, although they're still tricky. I also need to start my independent reading books...
Gov tests are harder than expected, but as of now, I still have over 100%. Yay! xD
APES is not surprisingly easy - I near-sleep through class and still got the highest test score and have the highest grade. Ridiculous.
Psych is just amazingly fun. I love it. =D
Calc. Oh dear. My grade in that class is so bad...
I visit Mr. White so much - I see him more often this year than I did last year when I was in his class. =P
College
Must finish early action crap soon...
I feel so screwed for applications! Ugh =[
Rec letters have been surprisingly easy to get, I need to remember to give DeVries a major interest/explanation thing though. And Barr/Hodges/Dillman stamped envelopes.
Cat
He is SO chill. Legit.
Chinese
Kim and I completely left school for like half an hour to go to Denny's and get food. It was freaking awesome. =D
Guard
First comp tomorrow! Freaking gold tights too. xD Well, I'm excited!

Cool Cat
.
We're thinking about naming him Link, cuz Dusky's sort of a bland name. He doesn't really respond to much right now, so whatever. xD
He's such a chill cat. Like we let him in, and he literally just walked in a circle downstairs checking stuff out. Then he was going to go upstairs but we had to stop him. But it wasn't like he was excited or anything, it was more like sauntering around the house slightly bored. =P Half the time he comes in he just plops down on the doormat and waits to be petted.
He's such a cutie, I love him! It sucks that I can't let him in all that much though - my mom wants us to keep track of him when he's in the house, and I'm usually a) not home, or b) busy doing homework/studying. Jess usually isn't home either... But it's alright, cuz he seems to like being outside quite a bit too.
Anyways, I love him! =] We're taking him to get his shots sometime this week, the sooner the better, but neither of us are ever home and my sis has time on Saturday... Sadly I don't, because of the comp, but she's the one who can drive anyways. xD

The AP Student's Version of a Drug Deal
.
Simion and I completely just worked out this deal. With poems. And cookies. I'm essentially paying him for chocolate chip cookies with my lit poem. Rofl.

People v. Buschell
Doctors Shartsis and Schwartz. Boss names. xD
Mr. Barr wants me to try out for pre-trial because while I'm "really good at being an expert, it doesn't seem to present a challenge for me anymore." I guess it's sort of true - I'd say it'd probably easier than it should be... I'm trying pre-trial out to see if I like it; I guess I can always fall back on being Doctor Jan Shartsis (gotta love that name) if I don't. =]
Kitty's cute. We sort of failed at putting flea medication on him (a lot got on his fur instead of his skin), so we're not really sure if it works... =\
Time to do some homework and get ready to fail another calc test tomorrow.

Self-Worth
I completely just bombed the calc test today. Pretty damn depressing considering I never got lower than a B on any calc test last year... I almost cried too. I'm supposed to be good at math, so what do I do when I fail at it? It's not like I can be better at anything else... To be completely honest, I don't have anything special going for me personally except being good at academics, math of them being my best subject, so what does it means when I start failing at what I'm best at?
Guard was rough today too. Lots of people didn't learn/remember their drill/work right, so we got criticized by Mr. J. A lot. No more halftime until we can clean this up. And I was counting on guard to cheer me up after that fail...
We took Dusky to the vet today - he's a boy. xP No infestation of fleas and no major health issues. Vaccinations will still be needed, and probably a blood test for FeLV. He's cute; I really want to keep him... Still looking for an owner out there. We're probably going to rename him. I was thinking Coriander (Cory for short) is a pretty cute name, but it's just an option. Any ideas?

Dusk For A Little While Longer
The potential new owner for Dusky got in a tiff (aka big argument) with the my connection (that sounds so weird xD) so he's not taking the cat anymore... Hopefully I can find someone else to take Dusky. At the very least, I can keep feeding her. I might want to invest in some cat food though...

Making A Difference
You know, I always told myself that I would be happy if I could make a difference for the better in someone's life. But up until now, I don't think I have, or if so, I've never actually seen any of the actual effects of that. And even if Dusky (Kiki) isn't exactly a person, it feels nice to have been able to help someone. It's nice to finally have done something that makes a change, especially since Kiki would have stayed out pitifully meowing at some door... It was sort of scary when she ran in the house, but she recognizes me now (or the food at least) and rubs up against me when I go out. Her new owner won't take her until she gets all her shots and stuff, but I'm glad that even though I can't keep her, I was able to find her a home.
Absolutely convicted now. First thing I'm going to do when I get my own place is get a kitty. And I'm going to adopt it. =]
Stray Kitty
If anyone is looking to adopt a cat, or knows someone who is, contact me... This poor kitty's been hanging around the past few days. Looks relatively healthy but will undoubtedly need a few checkups. I've been feeding it, but don't know how long I can keep it up, especially since it keeps trying to run into the house every time I open the back door...
