Happy 4th of July!!!

Bit late, since officially it's the 5th already, but whatever. Okay, well, time to be festive and get a break from my usual (bland, maybe?) blue-purple font! Anyways, the fireworks were cool, just like every year. XD Courtney ate barbecue at our house and came with us to watch the fireworks, and we met Black Angel, Michelle, and Nat in the park. Then we played Truth or Dare for a while, in which Black Angel had to call Taehyun and tell him that Michelle wasn't a llama raper [rapist]. (I know, weird...) Ellen and her friends were there too, so I got to see her too. =D Then we had to go back to where my parents were, and we (rather I, but whatever) ate Gummy Lifesavers, Sour Patch Kids, strawberries, and beef jerky. The show in general was cool, but sort of bland, since it's basically the same thing every year. They set them off a bit too low, and there weren't any Saturn ones. =( The smilies were cool though! I still have yet to see a show that is better than the one I saw in Taiwan summer of '07 though; that was AWESOME.
Then again, it's a time to be thankful for the many wars America has participated in the past that have allowed us to gain and preserve our independence and freedom, as well as a time to pray for the troops currently stationed in Iraq. It's hard to celebrate our freedom when so many are dying overseas. Which brings me to think, "What's the point of these wars anyways?" I fully doubt that the Iraqis will look back in a century or so and say, "Thank goodness for the Americans." We can make the world a better place for others, but will they appreciate us for doing so? Then again, maybe we should just make the world a better place, shut our mouths, and hope to get an inch of gratitude from the people. Oh well, some aspects of life shall fully remain a mystery to me. Anyways, Happy 4th!
