On Girls and Guys, and the Relationships in Between...

Anyways, I'm currently reading this (fictional) book about this girl who used to be fat, but then slimmed down and somehow dated the hottest guy in the school, broke up with him, and is now surrounded by cheerleader friends with whom she does not fit in. I figure that this girl is amazingly retarded. I mean, why would you want to be someone you obviously aren't? If you don't fit in with your friends, who the hell are you going to fit in with??? Besides, she's still wanting to re-date that hot dude, even when (HELLOOOO!!!) he freaking hit her, stalked her, and made her dump her original friends.

So anyways, I figure that there might actually be some of those girls (*gasp*) at CHS too, but I don't know. Whatever, they're losers. I love my friends though. I can totally be my own, crazy, hyper, out-of-control self, and they still love me. XD Yay!
And I thought, usually guys would be cooler and less vain, right? And that's usually the case, but every once in a while, along comes a guy who has this freaking huge ego *coughs* and is always adjusting his hair *coughs* and thinks he's all that *COUGHS*. It's rather annoying.

I sort of wish we were in elementary school again. Only in the sense that in elementary school, no one gave a sh*t about clothes, makeup, or whatever. You just had those friends that you hung out with and everything was awesome. Sure, people would tease you about liking so-and-so if you hung out with him all the time, but other than that, life was grand. But now, you see these little 3rd graders wearing tons of makeup, shopping at like, Nordstrom Rack, and wearing designer jeans/purses, and it's sort of like, "What the hell?" Even more so, what kind of weird parent would buy that stuff for their kids? How much money do you guys have?!?! Okay, done ranting. On this subject, at least. XD

*****

And now on to the relationships. I have a friend (not a really close one, but still a friend) with whom I was discussing boys with (along with like, 6 other people), and she just said, "Guys for me are like shiny new toys. They're fun for like a week, then they get boring." At that point, I was seriously just like, "Wait... She did not just say that..." I thought my sister was crazy, having a different guy for every year of high school, and yet this girl has had four boyfriends in freshman year alone.

I mean, I hate to judge, but it really seems that relationships these days really don't go anywhere, and I think that's mainly because of people's attitudes towards them... It's like, people these days date for the heck of it, just to see what it's like, what this guy/girl is like, whatever... There's these girls (and guys) who've had like, several boy/girlfriends, and have kissed all of them, and I just find it sort of weird. For me personally, I'd rather not have a boyfriend at all than to have one that I don't actually like. And I definitely wouldn't kiss someone just for the heck of it. (Thank God none of my close friends are like that...) Maybe it's just because I'm so into that fairytale love story? It's sort of weird; other people date to get to know them better, whereas I'd rather know the person better before I date them.
I might not be able to tell if I like a person (or if it's just a crush thing) before dating, but I would only date someone if I could somehow picture myself liking them, you know? Probably not, but whatever. Basically, I won't date someone who I can't think of liking, and even if I can think of myself liking them, I won't necessarily date them. I'm a rather complicated person. I guess I'm just too focused on having a guy that's "perfect." Not in every sense of the word, but in some senses... *sighs* Sometimes I really do get sick of waiting though, it's just sort of like, I'll see these happy couples and wish that I had a guy who loved me... And then at other times, I figure that if there was a guy who liked me that I know right now, then it would work out, right? But it hasn't happened yet, so sometimes I figure it probably won't happen at all... Oh well.
I'll find him someday.

Band Camp, Drill, PARTAYYYY!!!!

So anyways, band camp has been like... army boot camp. XD We've run quite a few miles (I lost count after four...), done a ton of random sprints/backwards running/push-ups/sit-ups/etc, carrying our pole across our backs... We're probably not going to have much time to run after school starts though... W00t!!! I survived the first week of band camp!!! Yay! Only one more to go, then school starts! I'm actually pretty psyched for school, which is slightly retarded, but whatever.

Drill was... interesting. We learned 25 sets, and I was being all happy because Zorro's opener was like 36 sets or something. Then when we finished, Mr. J was like, "That was only half, sorry." So the opener is... 50 sets?!?!?! What the F******CK?!?!?! *sighs* Oh well. Anyways, there was this time when we were doing a run-through, and the guard on side 1 totally forgot our sets, so we stood there for like, 4 sets all like, "Oh damn..." Then Ross almost ran into me because I was apparently in the way of his next dot. Woops. =P

OMG, Brandon joined marching band!!! Haha, I was so happy to see him, yay! I haven't actually talked to him in like, forever!!! But yeah, we seriously haven't changed since 3rd grade. =P Every single water break, we were running around stealing each other's hats and making fun of each other and stuff, it was pretty awesome. But anyways, he's on drum line (bass drum), and his first day of camp was drill. Sucks for him, since he doesn't even know how to march yet. XD He missed all those miles though...

Haha, I'm so freaking tan now!!! I have these epic sock, short, and tank top tans. XP But then I'm peeling along my collarbone, so I have this very awkward white splotch around my neck; it looks like I got burned or something. It's even more epic when I'm in my swimsuit; you can see every single one of my tans, it's soooo funny!!!

*****

The guard party was AWESOME!!! We had like, three different pizzas, strawberries, grapes, M&Ms, Twizzlers, brownies, cinnamon roll pizzas, frozen sorbet, Otter Pops... Plus a ton of lemonade and sodas. It was sooo good! I love our guard mom (Melanie's mom)!!! Except after Melanie graduates, senior year of guard is going to suck... No guard parties... *sighs* So anyways, we stayed in the pool/hot tub for like, four and a half hours until we were all wrinkly. XD Colton and I were playing around with Melanie's mini inner tube and her slide (yes, she has a water slide for her pool); it was sooo fun!
Then we went inside to her game room (it's this room separate from the main house with these pinball machines, a huge TV, a bathroom, tiny kitchen...) to watch some old guard shows, but I had to leave. =\ It was hella awesome though!!! CHS, YOU KNOW!

OH DAYUMMMMM!!!

Ugh... I'm so freaking tired and sore... We ran a mile today, and did a ton of sprints, grapevines, lunges, push-ups, sit-ups, etc. We skipped like 30 yards too. Yeah, skipped. But today was actually a pretty good day. Excepting the beginning, where we ran and totally killed ourselves, the rest wasn't that hard... We NEVER worked this hard last year... Plus, guard wasn't even with marching band during camp... Oh well, we'll build up endurance... XP
The band sounds really good though! Even though every time I hear them practice, I start freaking out because the music sounds so freaking fast and UGHHHH. But yeah, at least they're doing well... As for all of the coaches' talk about making the choreography suit our needs... Well, that's only a very, very, VERY last resort...

*****

This show better be worth all this work... We (guard) started learning work today, and it's so freaking fast, I'm like, "Holy sh*t, crap, noooo, f*ck, slow down! Aw, time to do it again??? Ugh..." It doesn't help that we have some rather complicated rifle work, including a very awkward left hand rifle toss (that I can barely get out of my hand, let alone catch...) and lots of wrist work. I practiced spinning rifle today; my right spins are absolutely horrible, and I can't even start to spin with my left... *sighs* But I need to keep going! Go, go, go!!!

*****

Anyways, I got my STAR test scores back. What can I say, EPIC FAIL. XD But it's so stupid, if you miss like, one problem, you get like, 20 points docked of your score... *sighs* Oh well, whatever, it doesn't really count for anything.

English-Language Arts: 494 (It's a wonder I passed Foss' class with the grade I got... 100%, hell yeah!!! I'm still really happy about that, =P)
Algebra II: 553 (God, it just keeps getting worse and worse...)
Biology: 458 (Damnnnn... But what can I say, I didn't learn much in Pence...)

My English and biology grades are the same as Courtney's!!! Yay! I can feel smart now! ;D I don't know about the sub-section scores though... Oh well, whatever. Now I need to go sleep so that I can go run another mile tomorrow! Yay!!! -.-

First Day of Band Camp!!!

So anyways... I'm seriously back to being the level of a freshman... I can't even do throwaways anymore... Of course, I never really could do them, because I'm so short, but still... My drop-spins are okay, double-times a bit worse but still good. Stretching's fine, but I need to do more of that... OMG, our practice flags are HOT PINK!!! Yay! Ahaha. But everyone needs to learn to spin rifle; I'm so scared. I can't spin rifle. I suck at it. Ugh. I'm going to need to practice like, everyday for as long as it take, because I WILL NOT be the worst. I refuse. Even though I'm the only "old" member who has never touched a rifle in her whole life. Well, I'm going to need to buy some gloves to protect my hands, and then I'll practice for a while every day, because I really want to be able to do this... Well, I'll survive, and I really hope that this season's better than my last season...

*****

Anyways, I got my braces off today!!! My teeth feel so weird and slippery... And my mouth feels so empty... But my orthodontist gave me a "goodie bag" with popcorn, peanuts, Jelly Belly jelly beans, and a Snickers! You know, all that stuff that I wasn't supposed to eat *cough* when I had braces. I'm getting my retainers next week. ;)

Band Camp in Less Than 5 Hours...

Agh... I'm pretty stressed... Last few hours before I get to go have a full 2 weeks of yelling, complaining, spinning, getting hit by flags, and running around (also known as band camp). I wish it was the beginning of summer again, where sure, I was totally screwed for my piano test, but I at least had Taiwan to look forward to. What do I have now? Band camp. And a new school year. Joy.

I knew Colorguard wouldn't be easy-peasy and all, but I never expected it to be as hard as it is for me... I really come home and practice like crazy until I can't see outside anymore, but you can't even tell... I really wish my efforts would pay off sometime... I spent all of last season being the worst spinner there, the worst tosser, the worst marcher, the worst, worst, worst. I don't want to just survive at band camp, I want to do it and be good at it. Agh... And I'm pretty sure the work is going to be harder this year too, given that the music is faster and everything... Which is amazingly scary for me, because I barely scraped through last year... I only had one show in the entire season that I didn't make a mistake in... And I guess I'm now officially become a sophomore, so Kelly and the others aren't going to be easy on me... They're always easier on the freshman/newbies, you can tell. But considering I'm a sophomore and still just as good (maybe even worse) than the newbies, I'M DEAD.

But there's a reason to go through this hell... After competition, guard parties, and when the coaches smile at you if you've done something well... *sighs* I guess I'll just have to toughen up.

*****

As for school... I hope it's not THAT much harder than freshman year... Sure, so everyone thinks I'm like, pro at academics or something, but in reality? Even while I don't exactly study my butt off or anything, I'm just as worried about my grades as anyone else. Like, I don't study because I know the material, but I don't walk into a test saying, "Psh, whatever, I'll get an A anyways." I walk in thinking, "Okay, I know I won't fail miserably, but I don't know the grade I'll get. What if there's some trick questions? Or material that I DON'T remember? What am I going to do then?" So I really hope I can get through this year as well as I did last year (not likely, given my APs and Honors...), and I'm really worried for next year...

Rewatching Hana Kimi!!! <3

Yeah, I finished it in two days... 15 hours of pure bliss... *sighs* Why do I love dramas so much? Because, given that I don't have my own drama/guy as of now, these dramas fill me with that warm, tingly feeling which makes me feel so loved. I cry with the characters, I'm happy when everything turns out fine and love prevails... Yeah, I think I'm addicted... And what else? They make my life better. When I'm sad and want to cry, I'll go watch a love drama, and everything seems better. The world seems like a better place, where true love does exist. Just because I haven't found it yet, doesn't mean that it's not there...

I really wish I had my drama... I guess it'll come in time... I just want to meet that one guy who will make everything better... =)

I love the theme songs too!
Zhe Me Ban by S.H.E and My Only Angel by Tank... Zhe Me Ban is a really cute, slightly funny, song, whereas My Only Angel is a really sweet, romantic one. I love them both... I never really paid attention to the closing song though (it's never in any of the Mysoju videos; they always cut it off), so now I'm like, obsessed with it.

But on a less mushy-gushy note, I noticed that a ton of the characters in Hana Kimi are in the KO One/X-Family series too. Like Jiro/Xiu Yi (he plays the main in the series), Wu Zun/Quan (he's first on the fighter list), Danson Tang/Liang Si Nan (number two), Da Shu, Ri Ben Qiao (lesser fighters), Oscar (legendary protector), Dorm One/Tian Luo ("evil" guys). Anyways, I found that pretty interesting.

So yeah, I think I'm going to go watch another short drama that I can finish before tomorrow. Savoring the last day before band camp... =)
I was thinking though, Ella really COULD pass for a pretty guy if she wanted too. Whereas other people, like me, for instance, wouldn't ever be able to. Ever if I chopped off my hair and wore guy clothes all the time, I think my face isn't as... defined? as guy's faces are supposed to be. I don't think I'd convince anyone... Oh well, I guess that's a good thing? =P

Back in America!!!

So yup! I'm back in America, in my average, boring life. I can call Davy at 2 am now! LOL. Taiwan was really fun again; I played badminton and archery, and went shopping at night markets and stuff. I got my friends stuff!!! =D But yeah, that's over... I'm so sad... My summer ends in a few days too. *sobs* *sighs* Oh well... At least I finished AP Euro, and there's no work for English... Courtney's officially a soccer referee!!! Yay! Robyn skipped out on test day for HAWAII. XP I find it funny, as she was the one who wanted to be a ref in the first place. =P

*****

Band camp starts in 2 days... I don't think I'm ready... Gah, I totally forgot how to spin and toss a flag, nooooo. DX I'm so inflexible now too, it SUCKS. I think I'm going to die... *sighs* Well, it'll be worth it! Guardies for life! =D

"The Terminal" Family

So anyways, China (being all stupid and everything) blocked Facebook, Blogger, Youtube, etc. It was rather annoying. So anyways, the day we left Shanghai, it was raining the hardest it has in a few years. Like, as it the roads were flooding (getting a taxi ride was almost impossible, and the ride itself was like a water rollercoaster), and the runways were partially flooded too. So our original flight got delayed for about four hours, so we managed to squeeze onto the earlier flight (which was departing at our original flight time). But then that got delayed for an hour, and we spent two hours on the plane waiting for the signal from the flight tower okay-ing us for departure.
So basically, we were about 3 hours behind schedule (we ended up in Hong Kong at about 11pm), and since we were supposed to change flights in Hong Kong, we ended up missing our connecting flight back to Taipei. Hence the title. We got to stay at the airport hotel though, which they said was five-star, but was really about three. =P We got like HKD$460 (USD$66) for dinner and breakfast though, but we spent it all at Starbucks. Roflmao. It was the only thing open at midnight, and we were rushing in the morning to get on our flight, so we didn't bother finding an actual restaurant. The airport TVs were all playing some "rap" about preventing H1N1, I recorded it, it was soooo funny!

So anyways, China was fun! Hong Kong and Shanghai both have great places to shop (or, actually, stay in cool AC-department stores), and their night scenes are gorgeous! Hangzhou and Suzhou have some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen! I took lots of pictures, I'll upload them later. =P I got tons of cool experiences too; I got to ride the magnet train, see quite a few of the world's tallest buildings, and a lot of other stuff. ;D

*****

I went to ShiLing night market yesterday (again), and bought so much stuff it's ridiculous. Sure, most of it's for my sister, but it's still ridiculous. I got these really cool plastic "night lights" that glow and change color (one's a flower, the other's a ball), four pairs of shoes (three of them for my sister), a shirt/dress, a necklace (for my sister), these REALLY pretty credit card holders (one for each of us), and Coach key chains. Yep. Spending money's fun. Haha.

I'm going to Wu Fen Pu (shopping place for hella cheap clothes and stuff) to see if I can find more stuff for my sister. And maybe me, depending. XP Hope your summer's going well too! (Especially for you soccer refs, lol.)

Only in China...

LOL. I was like, WTF??? But seriously, who would wear that? XDD

Anyways, Hong Kong's a beautiful city. ;D Night scenery is especially pretty, except I don't have a night option on my camera... =( Been down the "Avenue of Stars," and the Clock Tower, and some other places. Exploring more today! I took tons of pictures too, they're all going to be up on Facebook. =P There's not that much to write though, except the fact that it's rather hot here, but it rains periodically too, so it's like, "Um... really?" Plus I can't wear my favorite (self-made) hat, because it's not exactly waterproof and the pink will bleed if it touches water.

The hotel we're staying in is AWESOME though! I can't tell you how weird (but in a nice way) it feels to have those hotel guys opening doors for you (you know, like they always show in the ads, but never actually happens) and bellhops, and the guys in suits in the elevators with white gloves that ask, "Which floor?" and press the buttons for you and stuff. Speaking of buttons, they aren't actually buttons, they're like, touch pads. =D Anyways, this hotel is hella nice! Well, besides the fact that their internet costs like US$15 (I'm in a Starbucks right now).

So anyways, I'm having a BLAST here in China, hope all of you guys are doing well back in sunny Cali!!! (Or Taiwan, for some of you. Or wherever else you are! XP)

Kaohsiung ~ Marco's Cafe

Yep. My grandparent's here don't have internet at their house, so I'm here at a cafe. Drinking tea. Eating waffles. And using the internet!!! Haha. Yeah, not much has happened... I'm actually sort of bored. Well anyways, I'm going back to the house in like, five minutes, so yup. Just thought I'd post a quickie here, since I have nothing else to do, and since most all of my friends are sleeping. XD Okies, bye!!! =P

Shooting Range!

So anyways, I went to this shooting range with my uncle and aunt (but my aunt didn't shoot). It's only 10m but it's pretty damn hard. I had SO much fun though! It's hella awesome! You get to load the gun and aim and fire and everything too, it's so cool! We only got 20 shots though, but Uncle bought 500 shots afterward, so we can go again, and he can "practice" more. XD I really want to go again. ;D But anyways, I sort of failed, but at least all of my shots hit the paper! (Now the target's a different story...) One barely nicked the bottom edge, lol. My uncle totally blew two shots though. He insists that he must've aimed it so well that it went through one of his old bullet holes, but seriously? He just fails. XD We used pistols, since they're way easier to shoot. They have rifles too though! But anyways, I seriously admire people who can shoot well. I need to find a shooting range in San Ramon that's not too expensive. I'm probably going to get addicted to it if I do. Which isn't exactly good, but whatever. XP We might go again tomorrow; they have golf, badminton, pool, archery, swimming, and tons of other stuff too! We might not shoot tomorrow, but I definitely want to do archery. =D I really hope I get to go shooting again though! This place is hella fun, I wish my aunt told me about it earlier!

We ate at this really yummy pasta place after, and I got a froyo which is actually yogurt-like. Like, it tastes almost exactly like vanilla yogurt, not ice cream. Yummy! We bought a ton of food for my dad too, since he's coming back today. He should actually be here in a few more minutes. So yeah, I had a hella fun day! =P

Fun Times in Taiwan!!!

Okay, I take back my last post. Sort of. But anyways, PinkBunny and I made these hella AWESOME hats!!! We got these blank hot pink/neon blue/white hats from WeShare, and a ton of cute felt stickers and beads and jewels and stuff, and we decorated it! The blue pen was paint base, but the pink might bleed if it touches water, so that kind of sucks. But whatever. Mine turned out hella sick; I'm so proud of it!!! =D I'll post a picture of it here. Then we ate a ton of yummy food and stuff.

Kuromi has this awesome Pokemon game (Explorers of Time) on her DS, so we were playing that. I'm a Skitty, and she's Charmander! =D And we "raped" PinkBunny at night. Roflmao.

We went swimming today, it was sort of tiring. People here actually need you to SWIM. You can't just hang out in the pool and splash and half-swim, you need to actually swim. Period. But whatever.

But anyways, apart from that, PinkBunny seriously whines so freaking much. It gets HELLA annoying. And I'm her cousin, so I tolerate her better than most. But I swear, every time she gets annoyed or wants to go somewhere, or if something doesn't go her way, she gets soooooo freaking WHINY. Ugh. And Kuromi's mute and depressed right now, but we don't know why...>
Well, they're leaving tomorrow, and I've barely done any more notes for AP Euro. I hope we can go somewhere fun tomorrow though. Uhm... An amusement park! I love amusement parks! But anyways, I'm still hecka amazed that I made the hat, it looks so cool!

Oh, and on a different note, Wayne got a girlfriend!!! Yay! I'm so happy for him!

I Can't Believe This...

Ugh. >.< So anyways, my family and my cousin's family REALLY have a feud going on, and I actually haven't been talking to her all that much this year, because she's gotten sort of different and totally hyper and just.. I dunno, sort of annoying. It's like she has so many "best friends" that she actually has no best friends at all. Oh well.

Anyways, so my aunt tells me that her family will be leaving before I get to Taiwan, then it's before my mom leaves for Kaohsiung, and now they're staying until my dad gets here. -.- And okay, I was like, "Okay, sure." But no, not only are they staying, they're leaving our aunt's house, and coming here (our grandparent's/uncle's house). AND I'm sharing a room with my cousins. Yup, both of them. -.- And I'll have no time alone with my aunt or uncle now, because my uncle was on a business trip, then my aunt went to Macao, and now both my cousins are here, so undoubtedly they'll want to come with us wherever I want to go. Blech. Whatever.

*****

On the other hand, I found these little things (not specifying) that are TOTALLY perfect for Courtney, Robyn, and me!!! =D I'm so happy! ;D

Happy (Belated) Fourth of July!

Anyways, the fireworks this year were really pretty! They had a few new ones, there was a cube, then this double Saturn with a ring thing. They had a lot of the glittery ones, so that was nice. Overall though, I think last year's show was better. Oh well. Happy Independence Day, guys! (How come no one ever says that? =P)

*****
So I went swimming with Lucy, Jillian, and Seohyun today. Four blind girls without goggles diving for small black hairbands in the deep end of the pool = fun and chaos. We all dived for one set of keys at the beginning, but after a few kicks in the head, we decided to use two hairbands, and take turns instead. Then we sunbathed and took pictures, and Jillian played with a golf ball she fished out of the pool. (I think the person who hit the golf ball into the pool is a hazard to swimmers. I mean, I know there's a golf course right there, but come on!)

Then we went back to my house, and I swear, those girls eat so much. o.o They devoured a whole freaking pot of spaghetti. And a croissant. And some ice cream. And popsicles. And half a jug of apple juice. Haha, I was like, "Holy sh*t..." But it was fun. Then we watched some TV, and Lucy/Jillian both left. Seohyun stayed for a while and I touched up on AP Euro notes, then we left for the park to hang out with her friends and watch fireworks.

Anyways, before the fireworks, I hung out with Seohyun and some of her freshman friends (Marcel, Jeff, John, Jeddy) and we played basketball. =P Damn, I just realized 3/4 of the guys' names start with J. Haha, I'm so pro. So yup, that was fun. Then we spent like, 20 minutes deciding where to sit before going to where I usually sit with my family. So yup.

Then we went to Starbucks, which was cool, but apparently there was a fight there, and there were tons of cops and an ambulance and everything. OMG, I SAW A COP ON A BICYCLE!!! Haha, it was so awesome! I was like, "Wowwww, I didn't even know they had cops that just rode bicycles!" But it had the red and blue flashing lights and everything! On the bicycle!
So I saw Sling and Megan and Kevin at Starbucks, and Yuna revived the "Sling and Erica look alike" debate. Which I think Sling and I lost (we argued that we didn't), but whatever. Then afterwards, I saw Tedmund and DJ (who I thought I didn't know, but I actually do know him. Sort of. By sight. XD), and Tedmund got pissed at Kevin (who left already), because he ditched them earlier. Then I left with Seohyun. So all in all, a pretty awesome day! ;D

*****

I watched "The Proposal" with Courtney, Robyn, Kevin, Ross, and Davy on Wednesday. It was hella funny, and such a cute movie too! I found out that it was a total chick flick, but since it was hilarious, I don't think the guys minded much. XD But omg, afterwards, I kept thinking about how Ryan Reynolds/Andrew Paxton said "Wifeless" at the end, and it was just so cute! (Yeah, you need to watch the movie to get what I'm talking about). But anyways, afterwards, we went to McDonald's, and Loard's, and Bay Books, and some other places too. But Ross left, so Kevin and Davy teamed up and totally ditched us. -.- And then Davy tried to scare us, but the idiot didn't realize that store windows have reflections. Haha. Eh, whatever. So that was hella fun too. =D

*****

Went bowling last Friday with pretty much the same group. Actually, minus Kevin and Ross. XD I felt sorry for Davy. Sort of. Not really. But anyways, I EPIC FAIL at bowling. Of course, I didn't really care, but whatever. I think I ended up with a 35? Haha, yeah, lame. Oh well. Then we went to Burger King, and PetsMart, and Toys R Us (where Davy and I rode around on these little kiddie bikes with training wheels until an employee asked us to stop), and Target! Where Davy was mean and stole my bouncy ball and threw it back in the bin. It took me like, 5 minutes to get it out of the bin. And he just threw it back in! -.- But I tried riding this baby tricycle, and I sorta broke the end, and Davy put it back together for me, so I forgave him for the bouncy ball incident. XD Then we left. Yup. Fun times, fun times.

*****

On another note, TAIWAN IN 2 DAYS! HELL YEAH! But I still have a ton of AP Euro notes. Agh... -.- Oh well. Related to that, Wayne FINALLY got on AIM today. Haha. I need to meet up with him in Taiwan, I havem't seen him in like, forever. -.- Oh well. So yeah, I'm hecka psyched for Taiwan! Yay!

Piano Test

Anyways, I passed. Yay. But my judge was seriously crazy. I swear, she looks at EVERY. SINGLE. NOTATION. -.- I'm not going to use the pedal on every single song, or play the song exactly as the page says. Jeez. I swear. Besides, it's not my fault that I was never instructed to use the soft pedal, but nooooooo, she still needs to dock points. Same for playing forte where it says mezzo-forte. Even though my teacher said to. But whatever, she ended up liking me. It all depends on how you talk to her (haha, she was fun to talk to).

Basically she'd like, come over after every single song and tell me exactly what was wrong with it. And I'd just be like, "Okay." "All right." "I'll make sure to pay attention to that in the future." So she was like, "You're very mature. And you're only fourteen!" Then, just for good measure, I added, "Thanks for all these suggestions, I'm sure they'll help in my studies in the future." (NOT) But it was rather interesting. Plus she'd always cut me off halfway in the middle. And there was one where she cut me off and had me restart in the end. It was like:

Judge: Okay, that's enough. Now, can you start playing at the G minor arpeggio?
Me*thinking*: What the f*********ck? (I mean seriously, who memorizes pieces according to where they have arpeggios or whatever?)
Me *speaking*: Uhm, I'm not exactly sure which section of the piece you're referring to...

Haha, it all depends on how you phrase it. =P But she was a pretty cool person, just not exactly the best judge. She started talking to a seagull. As in, "SHUT UP. You're annoying me" to a seagull cawing. XDD She also started walking around and dumping out her purse halfway through my "Moonlight Sonata" looking for a tissue. But anyways, after a while, I gave up trying to get her to like my playing, sine she was too anal, and just spent time trying to get her to like me, since sometimes (rarely, but it happens), they give you more points that way. XD So I was all like (since she'd just spent like, 3 hours listening to two students when their teacher scheduled them for one hour TOTAL), "Take your time. I was waiting outside for a while, so I know how it feels. We've both had a long day."

But she refused to cut any pieces. It went along:
Teacher: You can go ahead and cut some pieces, we've been here for a long time.
Judge: Oh, it's fine, I'm sure your student would want me to listen to all of the pieces she's prepared, right? *looks at me*
Me *thinking*: Oh hell no! Cut ALL my pieces if you want!
Me *speaking*: Oh, well, if it's easier for you... I wouldn't mind if you cut a few...

But yeah, I was SUPPOSED to start testing at 3:45. But uhm... it ended up being like, 6:25. *sighs* And the judge only gave me an "Excellent." I think it's my lowest score yet; I've always gotten "Superior"s and "Superior Plus"s. I think I had on or two "Superior Minus"s, but definitely not an "Excellent." *sighs* Oh well, it was fun talking to the judge. Haha. I'm sort of glad I didn't take my Bach though (even though I prepared all of them), because given how freaking meticulous this judge is, she probably would've failed me. =P
